From the President of CCNI, Rich Weigel
Christians throughout the world celebrate Christmas in honor of the biblically foretold historical event, the birth of Jesus Christ. While different cultures celebrate Christmas in different ways, the unifying factor is the reality that The Savior – the Messiah – was born, declaring the continuing truth of God’s love for His people.
Luke 2:9-12 (NLT) – Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
We celebrate the “good news” today, just like the angels told the frightened shepherds. We celebrate with “great joy” in recognition of the importance of that blessed event and the rest of the story that we have all come to know. We celebrate because The Savior was born in fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets, showing God always keeps his word. We celebrate for the deliverance that came through Jesus’ birth. We celebrate the humility, the indescribably gift, and the love that was shown by God to redeem his people.
From all of us at Christian Coaches Network International, have a Merry Christmas and celebrate with us the reality of Jesus’ birth.
