A few months ago I had the pleasure of doing a talk via Facebook Live with Keith Webb, Dino Sinesi, and David Whitehead. The discussion was around why now is the time to coach and something David said has really stuck with me, “This is everyone’s first year in business.”
The pandemic has thrown a wrench in everyone’s system – not always for the worse I might add – but what he meant by that is that no one has experience operating a business in a pandemic, so we’re all back to the drawing boards, like it’s all of our first years in business. This can sound overwhelming to some – but it made me think about the freedom that gives so many of us to try and fail and be met with so much grace because, well – COVID! It’s a wonderful season to try new things and an especially wonderful season to be exploring technology and ways of reaching and connecting with people digitally because even when the pandemic has subsided and the world returns to a form of normal – I believe a significant portion of the world will not return to their normal before, but stay digital in many ways.
And just like anytime we are searching for the next idea, step, or plan – remember to turn to God!
Proverbs 3:1-8
My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.
Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
